According to Egypt's official news agency MENA, the foreign ministers of 20 Arab and Muslim nations issued a joint statement in which they called for de-escalation and denounced Israel's attacks on Iran. “grave concern over the dangerous escalation in the region” was expressed by the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Bahrain, Brunei, Turkey, Chad, Algeria, the Comoros, the UAE, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, and Mauritania.
According to the statement, the ministers "asserted the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and the principles of good neighborliness, urging all parties to settle their disputes peacefully." They also “underscored the importance of creating a Middle East free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction,” and urged countries to accede to the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons treaty.
Israel is not a signatory to the treaty, which is a global agreement to stop nuclear weapons from spreading. The ministers emphasized that the conflict "cannot be resolved by military means" and should be resolved diplomatically.
Israel claims that Iran's overnight attacks have not had much of an impact since the conflict began.
Israel’s military intercepted and “eliminated” 30 drones from Iran overnight, the Israel Defense Forces said.
It had also stated earlier Tuesday morning that Iran had only fired a few ballistic missiles at the country overnight, but it did not specify the exact number. Col., the international spokesperson for the IDF, stated, "Tonight was the least impactful night by the Iranian attacks since the beginning of this operation." Nadav Shoshani told CNN’s John Vause on Tuesday.
Tuesday morning brought fresh strikes, with emergency responders on the ground at several impact sites in Israel, though they said no injuries had been reported so far.
Tuesday, a local Iranian official said that an Israeli drone was shot down by Iranian air defenses near its nuclear facility in Natanz. However, Shoshani told CNN that all Israeli aircraft were safe. The Israeli Air Force claimed that it had carried out "several extensive strikes on military targets of the Iranian regime in western Iran" overnight in response to Israel's attacks on Iran. It had hit dozens of missile storage and launch infrastructure, as well as missile launchers and drone storage sites, the IDF said.
