Internet Computer Is Number One Ranked On Dev Activity List

 Data shows Internet Computer has become the number one ranked coin in this metric, ahead of the likes of Ethereum (ETH) and Cardano (ADA).

The analytics firm Santiment has discussed how the sector's top cryptocurrencies have improved in terms of the Development Activity metric over the past month in a new post on X. As its name suggests, the Development Activity measures the amount of work that digital asset project developers put into their public GitHub repositories.

The indicator makes this measurement in terms of ‘events,’ where an event occurs whenever the developer takes any action on the repository, like pushing a commit, creating an issue, or creating a pull request.

 The fact that many projects in the industry are forks—that is, copies until a certain point—of another project is the reason why the metric does not simply use the number of commits as the measure of development work completed. 

The commits from the previous project are passed on to forks, but these commits naturally do not represent the new developer's work. The indicator provides a "true" representation of the developer's work because the entire forking process is counted as just one event in the analytics company's methodology and previous events do not carry over. As is visible above, Internet Computer has been the number one coin in Development Activity during the past month, with the metric’s value standing at 557.7 right now.  Starknet (STRK) is in third place with a value of 260.6, while Chainlink (LINK) is in second place with a value of 370.8. Despite being larger in market cap, Cardano has finished in fourth with the indicator sitting at 238.63.  Even more notable, however, is Ethereum’s position.  

The coin is the second largest in the sector, but it has the lowest value among the listed cryptocurrencies, at just 185.73 dollars. Now, what does Development Activity signify for an asset?  A project's developers may be committed to it if the metric has a high value. Even though it isn't the only thing to look for, it can indicate whether the project will last and isn't just another scam.
